Why People are Neat

So I've been told recently by kid sister that one of the reasons I might actually marry some lovely girl is because I "see why people are neat".

"Seeing why people are neat" isn't listed on my resume.  And to be frank, I'm not sure I understood it when she told me that.  I probably don't now - but I've been pondering it over the past few days.

Here's what I've come up with:

Working at Night

Some of my favorite moments in my life are when I discover things about myself through passive pondering.  For example, I discovered one night that I like watching "feel good" movies late at night - because when I do, usually I'm the only roommate who lasts through them.  So when they're done, I can ponder the message of the movie without being disrupted.

Through reflection, I've identified another thing I like to do:  work at night.

The development and capacity of the human mind has been on my mind (no pun) as of late. It seems the process of deepening thought, sharpening focus and extending one's attention span involves more than simply the brain.

Web Design: Weebly vs WordPress

Since creating the acoustic duo, Wood, I've had to learn all sorts of web design tomfoolery.

Weebly

The website for the band was initially created using a tool called "Weebly Drag and Drop Editor".  It makes for incredibly easy building of pages - but it doesn't allow for much customization.  For instance, you'll need to use one of their pre-designed templates, color schemes, etc.  And while there are a whole lot of templates, it would sure be nice to be able to change the background color easily or adjust the height of a banner.

Elder Bednar's Q/A and a New Semester

Yesterday Elder Bednar came to Logan.  He held a fireside in the Logan Tabernacle with neighboring stake centers connecting in through video conference.  It was interesting to see him reply to college aged questions.  He's a class act, that Elder Bednar.  His main principle (and also his apostolic blessing) dealt with understanding moral agency.  He taught the concept under the principle of obedience and how every choice we make reduces or sustains our agency.

This is the last week I have to prepare to teach my class.  I need a lot of preparation still.  And I'm a bit worried about finishing my thesis.  I need to focus like crazy.  Grind it out.  I'm sick of it, but I have to clear it out of my way before I can do other things.

There are a couple of projects I'm working on that might change what my life consists of over the next year or two.  I'll elaborate more later though.  For now I should head to bed.
